NOWHERE BOYS

Australia, 2013 (MIFF 2013, Next Gen)

Director: Daina Reid

"Everybody who knows us has forgotten us."

When four very different teenage boys get lost in the forest, it seems like a small misadventure, making an already tiresome school excursion even worse. When they emerge they discover that not only has everybody forgotten them, but they've also been replaced by entire new lives. The four unlikely friends must now band together to find out what is going on - and to survive.

Tense, mysterious and compelling, Nowhere Boys is the bold new ABC3 series created by the acclaimed filmmaker Tony Ayres (The Slap, MIFF 2011; Tim Winton's The Turning, MIFF 2013). Featuring an exclusive screening of the first four episodes, this is a one-off chance to catch Australia's most exciting new television show before anybody else.

World Premiere.

Tony Ayres, Daina Reid, Dougie Baldwin, Joel Lok and Rahart Sadiqzai are guests of the festival.

MIFF recommends age 10+

All films featured as part of the Next Gen program are approved for screening by the Office of Film and Literature Classification. No person under the age of 15 years shall be admitted to Next Gen screenings unless in the company of an adult guardian.
