UNFINISHED BUSINESS marks the first job of directing for Bob Ellis, a film critic and co-screenwriter of such distinguished films as NEWSFRONT. GOODBYE PARADISE. MAN OF FLOWERS and MY FIRST WIFE. Geoff (John Clayton), a journalist in his mid-40s who's just returned to Australia after 15 years abroad, leaving behind him in the US a failed marriage and three children he misses, accidentally meets Maureen (Michele Fawdon), the girl he was in love with before he went overseas She's now married to an older man (Norman Kaye) she loves, but they're childless. There's obviously still an attraction between them, and it's not long before Maureen is proposing that Geoff try to impregnate her, since she's positive her childlessness Is due to her husband's lack of fertility, not hers.
